Avero works tirelessly to provide the premier restaurant software to hospitality groups around the world, and lately we’ve been taking that mission to another level.
Over the last few years, we’ve increased our support of organizations such as the Epicurean Charitable Foundation that provide scholarships to students pursuing careers in the hotel and restaurant industry. For the last five years we’ve planned and executed a four-day scholarship trip, during which we bring deserving young ECF scholars and their mentors to New York City for a once-in-a-lifetime experience including restaurant tours, one-on-one meetings with chefs and restaurateurs, and discussions about trends, the state of the industry, technology and more.
ECF, which consists of top executives dedicated to enriching the lives of students passionate about becoming future leaders of the Las Vegas hospitality industry, pairs students with mentors for the duration of the student’s education, and the mentor provides guidance, support, and assistance with job and internship placement. The annual Mentorship Matters dinner honoring this program was held Friday, January 8 at Mandalay Bay, and Avero was honored to be able to attend and extremely grateful to Ana Marie Mormando, General Manager of The Mansion at MGM, who so eloquently spoke about this year’s Avero scholarship experience that she and her mentee, Karen Nava, attended last summer. Check out her lovely speech about the experience below!
ECF’s Mentorship Matters was a fantastic event celebrating what ECF and Avero both stand for, and we look forward to a long relationship with ECF in the future.
