Each month we release the Avero Index highlighting year-over-year national, Las Vegas and New York restaurant trends.
Here are our findings from October 2015:
- On the national level, YOY same store sales sustained positive growth (1.3%, a 0.4pp increase from September) for the second month in a row.
- Las Vegas YOY growth remained positive (3.1%) with stronger Dinner and Late Night sales.
- New York YOY growth rate remained negative (-2.1%) with weak sales on weekdays and throughout the weekends. Dinner and Late Night had a sales decrease for the tenth consecutive month.
Avero’s in-house hospitality industry experts believe the negative growth in New York could be due to urban disloyalty and the rise of secondary markets, which means many restaurateurs and chefs are leaving the big expensive cities for smaller, more affordable areas.
