Our staff is made up of former restaurateurs and food lovers, so the spirit of hospitality and our passion for eating and drinking is at the core of everything we do.
Avero’s CEO and founder Damian Mogavero seizes every opportunity to check out the latest food trends, restaurants and menu items. Damian goes to great lengths to discover new experiences and share his knowledge with those around him, and this holiday season he focused on two of his passions: coffee and wine.
Damian worked directly with National Barista Champion Katie Carguilo and her team at Counter Culture Coffee to create a custom Avero coffee blend and inspire and educate Avero employees and friends on the importance of thoughtfulness in coffee programs. With hints of strawberry, blueberry, fig and a fresh lemon zest finish, Damian affectionately named the blend “No Mo’ Coffee” as it’s one of his life’s missions to fill the world with “no mo’ bad coffee”.
On the wine front, Damian went above and beyond to seek out the most appropriate wine for our annual staff holiday party, this year held at Altamarea Group’s East Village pizzeria Nicoletta. Because we are a restaurant software company and data goes into everything we do, Damian compiled a detailed spreadsheet of wines by vintage, varietal and vineyard, and from that created a complex algorithm to concoct what he felt would be the optimal selection for our holiday party. The result?
