This summer Avero‘s New York City headquarters hosted recent college graduates and current students for AMP, a summer-long training program. After two months of rigorous hospitality industry education and career development, the students have returned to Cornell for their senior years while the new hires have started their official posts as Avero associates.
In addition to receiving education and training, these lucky young professionals visted many famous and trendy New York establishments. Here’s a look back at their seemingly endless summer of education, friendship and, most importantly, food.
Adam Nesto, Account Manager: “The highlights for me were Glady’s Painkiller cocktail, jerk wings and braised oxtail, and Osteria Morini’s ravioli with truffle and egg yolk.”
Brittany Berman, Client Operations Associate: “The Food Tour was a great way for all the new hires and interns to bond and get to know each other as well as get to know the city. My favorites were the Hellboy pizza at Paulie Gee’s and the cookies at Levain Bakery!”
Daisy Dolan, Business Development Associate: “My favorite spots on the Food Tour were Corner Bistro, an NYC institution that definitely lives up to the hype; Black Seed Bagels, which may have finally made me a bagel person; and Ample Hills. The best part was getting to bond with my fellow AMP-ers over great food and adventures all over NYC.”
Ha Lim Lee, Marketing Associate: “I must say that Paulie Gee’s was my favorite. All the pies we ordered had creative and delicious toppings, but I especially enjoyed the Hellboy – the savory soppressata, mozzarella cheese and spicy honey was truly an amazing combo.”
Sivan Gompers, Marketing Associate: “The Levain cookie was the best cookie I’ve ever eaten.”
