The “Oscars of the food world”, also known as the James Beard Awards, took place last month in Chicago, and as always, Avero celebrated in style.
“Even before the awards, everyone was talking about the Avero Party Bus,” said Ally Welsh, our Events Manager. “People were lined up in huge crowds waiting for the bus; we had to make a lot of trips to make sure we got everyone!”
Partnering with pre-party host Sepia as well as after-party hosts Girl and the Goat (owned by BOKA Restaurant Group) and Big Star (owned by One Off Hospitality, this year’s Outstanding Restaurateur), the Avero Party Bus transported hundreds of guests to and from the awards ceremony and back and forth between accompanying events. Bus guests included this year’s Best Chef: Southwest Aaron Franklin of Franklin Barbecue and Outstanding Baker Jim Lahey, Best Chef: NYC nominees Anita Lo and Jonathan Waxman, previous winners Ana Sortun, Marc Vetri and Tony Mantuano, and many more distinguished industry professionals.
Aparty in and of itself, the Avero Party Bus was stocked with Burgundy, Champagne, local Chicago beer Goose Island 312, and even some delicious charcuterie provided by Tete. Congratulations to all of the 2015 James Beard Award winners. We’re already brainstorming for next year’s event!
